A long term condition of rosacea can see the developement of solid, red lumps and possibly pus filled spots, it can also cause the eyes to become irritated and watery. It can appear more often in women but men seem to suffer worse with the condition.

Flushing. Many people who have rosacea have a shown a tendancy to blush frequently or become flushed. The facial redness, which tends to come and go, is often the earliest indication of the disorder.

Bumps and pimples. Small red solid lumps or pus-filled pimples are often a symptom of rosacea. Occasionally the lumps may resemble acne or blackheads. There may also be a mild burning or stinging sensation.
Visible blood vessels. Sometimes small blood vessels will become visible on the skin of people who suffer from rosacea.

Irritable eyes . The eyes become irritated and may appear watery or bloodshot. This condition is known as ocular rosacea, can be the cause of styes as well as well as a reddening and swelling of the eyelids. In some severe cases, it can result in corneal damage and vision loss.
Burning or stinging. A sufferer may experience the sensation of burning or stinging on the face, and also an itchiness or a feeling of tightness may also be felt.
Dry appearance. The facial skin may become rough to the touch, and have appearance of being very dry.
Plaques. These are raised red patches that may develop in the surrounding skin area.
Swelling. Facial swelling can often be an indication of rosacea.
Skin thickening. It has been noted in some cases of rosacea that the skin has become thickened, resulting in a condition called rhinophyma. This condition is more often applicable to the nose, causing it to be bulbous in appearance.
